Located on C/ del Pintor Domingo, 40 in Ciutat Vella, this restaurant combines a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with a menu that's perfect for anyone craving authentic, flavorful dishes with a twist.

The first thing you'll notice about Forastera is its stylish yet relaxed vibe. Whether you're here for a quick lunch or a long dinner, the ambiance feels just right. The modern decor is paired with a traditional warmth that makes you feel at home the moment you step inside. It’s an ideal setting whether you’re catching up with friends, having a romantic meal, or enjoying a family gathering.

When it comes to food, Forastera definitely knows what it’s doing. The menu is a beautiful blend of Mediterranean flavors, with fresh, high-quality ingredients as the star of each dish. From their exquisite seafood paella to the mouthwatering grilled meats, you can expect each meal to be cooked with care and served with flair. A standout for many visitors is the tapas selection. These small, flavorful bites bring a taste of Spain that’s perfect for sharing with your table.

The staff at Forastera really make a difference too. They are friendly, attentive, and always ready with suggestions if you're unsure about what to order. I recall a recent experience when the waiter recommended the restaurant's signature dish-an incredibly tender grilled octopus that was both smoky and sweet, paired with a light citrus dressing. It was an unforgettable combination of textures and flavors.

If you're more in the mood for a casual snack or lighter meal, you can dive into the range of sandwiches and wraps that Forastera offers. Each one is made with fresh ingredients, packed with taste, and served just the right size to satisfy without overwhelming. Whether it's a hearty Iberian ham sandwich or a veggie-packed wrap, you'll leave full and satisfied.

What’s even more impressive is how Forastera takes pride in its relationship with local suppliers. The emphasis on fresh, local products not only supports the community but also guarantees that everything on your plate is as fresh as possible. This dedication to quality shines through in every bite. In fact, this commitment to sourcing the best ingredients makes the food at Forastera feel not just delicious but also personal, as if you’re being invited into the kitchen of a friend who cares deeply about what they’re serving.

Of course, no meal would be complete without a drink to go along with it. The wine list at Forastera is carefully curated to complement the flavors of the menu. Whether you're a red, white, or rosé lover, you'll find the perfect bottle to enjoy with your meal. Don’t skip over the cocktails either-their creative concoctions add a bit of excitement to the dining experience, offering something for everyone, from classics to innovative mixes.

We had an amazing dinner here on our only night in Valencia. The place is small and quiet in an area away from the huge crowds. The food was so nice! The flavors were subtle. Everything tasted fresh. We liked the fact the food is mostly based on the local kitchen. Portions are good. Nice selection of wines.

What a gem in Valencia. Get reservations here. Everything was fantastic. I only had one dish, a tuna dish that was too much meat for the plate, not my favorite. But the tuna was incredibly fresh and the flavors were spot on. The wine list, service, ambiance, and presentation deserve every bit of acclaim. Highly recommend.

As a former chef & sommelier, I must say this is a hidden gem! everything was so delicate, well-balanced and successfully executed. Outstanding wine list from the independent grower-producer to Rias Baixas limited cuvée to the Sherry for dessert. Lovely couple the chef & sommelier. Must reserve, the place is tiny & exclusive.

Simply Exceptional! The best meal we had in Spain. The menu is beautifully designed and paced, with each course leading perfectly into the next. The stingray (skate) was superb but everything was excellent. The husband and wife who run it are wonderful.

Genuine, honest, Quality, technical cooking and most importantly nourishing. Dishes are well composed and flavors of produce is accentuated and celebrated. A hidden gem and highlight of my travel in Valencia. Definitely worth a trip and back again next time. Love it.

Good food and very cute environment. But the cons is the amount of food in menu is not enough. I still felt hungry The second visit was disappointed for me. Maybe the dishes didn’t match my taste, and 4 main dishes were was also too heavy for us. However, they are friendly, but a little bit slow service on dishes.

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to; everything was cooked to perfection, full of flavours and passion. It’s a unique discovery of what València has to offer, definitely worth coming several time a year to taste seasonal ingredients. The service was discret but attentive.
